SUMMARY:Seminar: Conducting Research with the Indigenous Community
DESCRIPTION:Are you conducting or planning a research project that could involve indigenous participants?  This seminar provides an overview of important considerations for engaging Indigenous people in research\, including understanding cultural differences\, ethical considerations and the importance of community consultation. \nPresenters: Dr Michael Wright and A/Prof Sue Skull \nDr Wright is a Yuat Nyoongar man from the Moora and New Norcia area of Western Australia\, north of Perth.  He is currently an Early Career Research Fellow with Curtin University and is based at the National Drug Research Institute. Dr Wright has worked across the spectrum of health as manager\, social work practitioner and policy officer and has extensive experience as a researcher in Aboriginal health and mental health. \nAssociate Professor Sue Skull is a paediatrician\, epidemiologist\, public health physician and researcher. She is an experienced teacher of research methods and enjoys helping others improve and enjoy their research experience. \nREGISTRATION: \nPlease register online  to attend the seminar\, choosing one of the three attendance modes available: \n1.
