DESCRIPTION:Proudly supported by the PCH Foundation\nAbstract submissions are now open for the 2018 Child Health Symposium\, to be held 6-9 November 2018 at PCH. \nhttp://pch.health.wa.gov.au/Research/For-industry-and-sponsors/Industry-events/Child-Health-Symposium \nPresented by: Perth Children’s Hospital and Telethon Kids Institute \nAll are welcome to attend and there is no need to register for the event. \nFurther details about the event and a finalised program to be released\, draft program outline attached \nAdditional information\nThe abstract submission deadline for the 2018 Child Health Symposium is 5pm Monday 10 September 2018. You will be notified of the final decision regarding your submission by Thursday 20 September. \nPlease follow the instructions below and in the Abstract Submission form below when completing the application. \n\nAbstract Submission form (Word\, 188KB)\n\nAbstract submission information\nSymposium themes\nTo assist with scheduling you will be asked to nominate the theme to which your abstract most relates: \n\nImproving outcomes for Aboriginal children and children from other vulnerable populations\nWorking with and learning from consumers\nDevelopment\, disability and mental health\nChildren as predictors of adult diseases\nReducing the burden of childhood diseases\nBig data and precision medicine\n\nPresentation type\nThe following presentation options will be exhibited at the Symposium: \n\nOral presentation: the presentation will be 10 minutes\, plus 5 minutes question time.\nPoster: a poster display on a free standing board. Posters should be a minimum size of A3 up to a maximum size of A0. Laminating is optional. Colour is desirable.\nNote: Only one poster from each primary author/presenter can be accommodated in the poster display area.\nLightning talk: a short\, 3 minute presentation of your research project\, there will be a short opportunity for questions following all presentations in each session.\n\nAbstract requirements\nRequirements for abstract submission include: \n\nAbstracts should be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar before submission.\n\n\nAbstracts are to be submitted in the form below. If you are copying and pasting it from a Word document\, please remember to format it to the font size and format requirements.\nCalibri font style in 10 point is to be used.\nThe abstract must have a title\, in bold (maximum of 75 characters\, which is approximately 10-12 words.)\nThe author/s must be listed below the title\, including affiliations\, in the following format with the lead author in bold (i.e. Jones AB1\,2\, Smith AC3\, Brown CD1).\nUp to 3 key words must be provided that will assist in searching for the abstract and grouping of topic themes.\nThe abstract must not exceed 250 words (excluding title\, author and key words).\nReferences are not required.\n\nAbstract format\nThe abstract text should be formatted with the following subtitles: \n\nBackground and Aim\n\n\nResearch Method\nResults\nConclusion\n\n
