DESCRIPTION:WAHTN in partnership with the Centre for Cell Therapy and Regenerative medicine (CCTRM) and the Centre for Commercialisation of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM) Australia are happy to announce the 2019 CCRM Australia – WAHTN Technology Evaluation Workshop. \nThe Workshop coincides with the visit of the Canadian CEO of CCRM\, Dr Michael May\, who will be visiting Perth in May this year. Dr May will be in attendance at the Workshop and will be able to provide feedback on participant presentations. In previous Technology Evaluation Workshops participants have received valuable feedback from Dr May\, and in some cases\, participants have been referred to other contacts in the same research area. \nCCRM is a leading Canadian not-for-profit which develops new cutting edge technologies in the field of regenerative medicine\, including cell and gene therapy. \nWhile CCRM are open to new technologies which advance the field of regenerative medicine\, the following are also of interest: \nCell and gene therapy: \n\nT cell immunotherapies (CAR-T)\, target discovery platforms\, and biomarkers to identify potent T cell subsets\nGeneration of universal antigen specific T-cells\nGenetic modifications for enhanced cell targeting\nExosomes-based delivery of therapeutics\nCardiac/neural cell therapies\nSmall molecules for endogenous repair\n\nSmall molecule and mimetic alternatives to protein factors (e.g. growth factors) to be used for manufacturing\nNovel defined (recombinant proteins only) medium formulations for production of commercially relevant cell types\n\n\nGene therapy approaches\n\nEnabling Technologies: \n\nHuman PSC differentiation\nLabel-free cell isolation\nGene/epigenome editing and non-viral delivery\n\nCell engineering (genetic switches\, rapid clone selection\, hot-swappable regions\, integration site targeting\, expression stability\, etc)\n\n\nLentiviral transfection and transduction\n\nHigh-efficiency cell transduction (e.g. process related or new LVV envelope proteins)\n\n\nAAV for targeted delivery including novel AAV capsids\n\nManufacturing: \n\nNon-enzymatic passaging of cells in bioreactors\nNew bioreactor technologies relevant to manufacture of commercially relevant cell types\n\nHigh efficiency volume reduction and washing\, should be scalable (e.g. from 1L scaled to a magnitude of 100 or more)\n\n\nVirus filtration/clarification/isolation methods (LVV and AAV)\n\nHigh efficiency and high purity continuous enrichment of virions (lentivirus and AAV) from cell culture broth\n\n\nRapid assays for quantification of functional viral titre (lentivirus and AAV) new approaches to support manufacturing workflow i.e.:\n\nTracking technologies (materials\, equipment\, products and people)\nProcess data capture/monitoring and interrogation\nProcedural tracking\nProcess modelling and scheduling\n\n\nMedia development and formulations\n\nNew algorithms/methods for efficient exploration of high dimensional design spaces in media development and culture optimisation\nLow cost\, high efficiency\, scalable cell enrichment\n\n\nSensors to measure cell viability and biomass:\n\nIn-reactor analysis of media composition (metabolites\, proteins\, physico-chemical parameters)\nIn-reactor or rapid at-line and automated analysis of cell phenotype\n\nIn both cases preferably g-irradiation stable and single use\n\n\n\n\nRapid assays for detection of microbiological contamination\n\nEvent Details:\nDate: Thursday 23 May 2019 \nTime: 14:30 – 16:30 \nLocation: Seminar Room G 24\,  Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (North) \nPlease click here for the agenda \nBookings are essential and will fill up fast. Place yours now
