SUMMARY:Forrest Research Foundation Prospect Fellows Information Session
DESCRIPTION:The University of Western Australia (UWA) DVCR and Office of Research will hold an Information Session on Tuesday 2 February 2021 at the Gentilli Lecture Theatre\, Geology Building\, GGGL: [131]. \nThe second round of the Forrest Research Foundation Prospect Fellowship Scheme will open on 1 February 2021. There will be 10 post-doctoral fellowships of 18 months duration funded by the salary funded by the Forrest Research Foundation\, with on-costs provided by the host organisation. The on-costs for successful candidates hosted at UWA will be provided from the Centrally-held Fellowship Gap Scheme. The mentor and host research group or unit\, will need to provide a research environment which enables a successful fellowship\, including providing or sourcing any project operating costs required for the proposed research project. Other key criteria are available at the web-site and evident in the application form. \nThe disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in reduced opportunities for recent PhD graduates to pursue post-doctoral research. In response to this\, the Forrest Research Foundation is investing in the Prospect Fellowships to be held at any of Western Australia’s five universities. Twelve Fellowships were awarded in the first round (2020). Ten Fellowships will be awarded in Round 2. For more information visit the Forrest Research Foundation website. \nPlease note there will also be the standard Forrest Fellowships scheme (4 fellowships) which will open to applicants on 1 April and close on 16 May. \n
