SUMMARY:Re-imagining the future of e-health
DESCRIPTION:Join a workshop to help imagine the future of the outpatient e-Health experience. \nAbout this Event\nCOVID-19 has shown that our health system can pivot to deliver telehealth outpatient services which ensure quality and support patient choice. The success of maintaining connectivity during COVID-19 has been exciting\, and is a gain we don’t want to see backslide as we navigate towards our new normal. \nOur health system has shown it can work towards a future vision of: \n\nTransforming the patient journey – making it simpler to navigate\nEnsuring every appointment achieves patient centred outcomes; and\nImproving access for those most in need\, including those in rural and remote communities and people with mobility issues.\n\nWhat could our eHealth future look like? \nThe opportunities for Western Australia’s health system to advance are endless. Imagine having your own digital e-health portals managing your outpatient clinic appointments from your lounge rooms thanks to in-home health sensors and remote access to clinical experts. \nThe patient journey of the future is about choice. The choice for consumers and community members to take control of their own health management and only attend physical facilities for required face to face interventions. \nJoin us for this online workshop \nThe WA Innovation Hub and South Metropolitan Health Service\, in partnership with the Health Consumers’ Council and the Consumer and Community Health Research Network\, invite you to an online\, interactive workshop\, facilitated by EY. This session aims to bring consumers and other health stakeholders to continue developing the thinking of a patient journey map as imagined 30 years into the future. \nPLEASE NOTE: Register for the 8:30am session or the 12:30pm session. There is no need to book for both. \n

SUMMARY:Beyond COVID-19: a solution-focussed forum
DESCRIPTION:Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA)\, PRAXIS Australia\, ARCS Australia and CT:IQ have come together to create\, Beyond COVID-19: a solution-focussed forum\, after identifying a need for the clinical trial sector to collaborate and share information. \nBeyond COVID-19: a solution-focussed forum\, is an exciting new initiative for people working in clinical trials to share their learnings and assist with solutions. \nIt will be open for anyone to read\, and registration to participate is simple. Clinical trialists can instantly share their knowledge\, assist with responses and point each other to useful resources or contacts; from ethics to telehealth\, pharmaceutical supply to remote monitoring. \nSolving problems is at the heart of clinical trials\, and the COVID-19 pandemic has seen the sector becoming more agile; adapting existing trials\, finding new ways to commence planned trials\, or moving quickly to help test treatments and solve the riddles of coronavirus. \nThe pathway out of the pandemic will also see some twists and turns and more problem-solving for the sector\, where the Beyond COVID-19: a solution-focussed forum will continue to be a sharing space. \nJoin us all from 1:30pm – 2:30pm AEST on International Clinical Trials Day\, Wednesday 20 May\, for the official launch of Beyond COVID-19: a solution-focussed forum. \nA guest panel of experts will be live on the forum for the launch to offer their perspectives on your questions about clinical trials and registries through COVID-19 and beyond. \nThe forum will be hosted at clinicaltrialsalliance.org.au/forums/\n#clinicaltrials #COVID19 #BEYONDCOVID19 \n

SUMMARY:Workshop: Quantitative Imaging and Precision Medicine in WA
DESCRIPTION:Please note: Due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic\, this event has been postponed until further notice.  \nQuantitative imaging is a convergence of medical imaging\, computer science\, multi-omics and the clinical sciences. It is focused on the extraction of image features which can be used as actionable biomarkers regarding disease and normal pathology. \nImprovements in imaging technology and quantitative harmonisation\, computational methods such as machine learning\, and the increased availability of high performance computing infrastructure\, are leading to a revolution in the way medical imaging is used in precision medicine. \nThe development of quantitative imaging expertise and capability is aligned with WA Health initiatives in digital health and the implementation of precision medicine techniques\, and it will enable opportunities for innovation and commercialisation. \nThis workshop will showcase existing research in this field in Western Australia\, provide some insights from researchers who have worked in this field internationally and help to identify a pathway to enabling broader access to these techniques in WA in a way which integrates with developments in local health strategy and innovation. \nThe day will follow the brief schedule below. Refreshments and lunch will be provided: \n9:45 – 10:00 Welcome and introduction\n10:00 – 12:30 Applications (including morning tea)\n12:30 – 13:30 Lunch\n13:30 – 16:00 Opportunities (including afternoon tea)\n16:00 – 17:00 Public seminar \nTo register for the workshop\, please click here.
