DESCRIPTION:Matthias Pierce is a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester\, working in the Centre for Women’s Mental Health on the CAPRI project: investigating the health and social wellbeing of Children and Adolescents with Parental mental Illness. He completed his MSc in Medical Statistics in 2008 at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine\, initially working in perinatal epidemiology\, first at City University and then at the University of Oxford. He joined the University of Manchester in 2011 to work at the National Drug Evidence Centre on a large linked dataset\, investigating the epidemiology and offending of opioid users and completed a PhD on this subject in 2016. He then worked within the Centre for Biostatistics\, investigating methods for combining multiple biomarkers to predict treatment response.
