The Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) has welcomed the release of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Consumers Health Forum of Australia (CHF)’s Statement on Consumer and Community Involvement in Health and Medical Research, which sets a clear national expectation for embedded involvement across the research lifecycle.
AHRA contributed to the development of the Statement and is supporting its implementation nationally through the Health Research Hub, which has been identified as central to translating the Statement into action.
As part of AHRA’s national network, WA Health Translation Network is supporting local implementation by providing tailored support, connecting stakeholders and building capability to embed meaningful involvement from research priority setting through to translation.
The Health Research Hub (healthresearchhub.com) offers evidence-based guidance, tools and real-world examples, and connects users with their nearest Research Translation Centre for local support.
