Please find details of a new Cancer Council WA scheme that UWA is co-funding.

Cancer Council WA are seeking applications for up to 12 cancer research projects from $25,000 – $50,000 each to commence in 2016/2017. These grants aim to improve research quality and increase the competitiveness of WA early to mid-career cancer researchers by helping researchers obtain preliminary data and build collaborative networks.

The scheme is being part funded by Cancer Council WA, WA Department of Health, Western Australian Health Translation Network, The University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Telethon Kids Institute.

A unique feature of these grants is that each application is required to have at least one chief investigator from a minimum of three West Australian research organisations. Two of these investigators are required to be from the funding partners of the scheme.

Further information and the application pack are available on the Cancer Council WA website: https://www.cancerwa.asn.au/research/funding/collaborative_cancer_grant_scheme/
