This course introduces students to key frameworks and principles of health economics. It consists of three full-day workshops, in which you will learn how the Australian and comparative international healthcare systems are financed and funded; the core theories of supply and demand in healthcare, including the importance of information; the critical role of insurance; hospital financing and delivery; pay-for-performance schemes; and options for private/public mix in the financing and provision of healthcare.
