Bettering Aboriginal Heart Health in WA

Cardiovascular disease remains a significant contributor to the health inequities experienced by Aboriginal people. It is heartening that the CVD mortality gap has been narrowing and that daily smoking rates have reduced by 12.6% since 2004 in the Aboriginal population. In fact, between 2006 and 2018, the WA Aboriginal mortality rate has improved by 27%, driven by CV improvements. While much good work has been done in this space, there remains so much more to do.
